Question: What was the defining moment that confirmed to you that meditation was making a significant difference in your life?


One of the first insights any meditator has is just how incredibly noisy their narrative of constant thoughts is. Many find this discouraging, but I always congratulate my students. This is important to notice, and many further insights can be built on this.

When I first saw this in myself, just as my teacher had suggested, it gave me confidence to continue investigating.

We can watch the mind chatter like this, and eventually see that this chatter is not "us". What happens next?
